That gives a hint of what it's capable of doing .
The Jynxbox Mini is an Android 4.0 powered HDMI stick with built-in WIFI (antenna included ), MicroSD card slot (supports up to 32GB cards) , an IR cable attached receiver ,a neat little remote , USB port and support for ATSC USB Tuners.
One might say we are witnessing the progress of an era .
An era of bridging the gap between our Android phones and tablets over to our TV-sets.

Once plugged in we are presented with a step by step guide to configure the device:
You have your screen resolution settings, (and yes, 1080p is supported), your input devices , your Google Play Store country settings, WiFi configuration and after that is done something magical happened .
Once that was finished an upgrade prompt was presented and on answering "Yes" a reboot is done.
This is a nice approach , no need to rummage through forums and interwebs for the latest firmware . You get it served instead !
On the installed apps side we get a basic range of apps, which is preferred in my humble opinion.
You have your browser, backup app , app installer, cache cleaner, chrome browser, facebook, global newsreader and play store to mention a few.
The remote has a battery installed ( a 2026 3V lithium one) and although the remote is slight loud on clicking it still is a generous addon for a device of this type.
(You are of course free to buy whichever supported input device and use it with Jynxbox Mini.)
The real juice with Jynxbox Mini is the addition of MX Player and XBMC for Android.
These are preinstalled and the only thing that needs to be fiddled with is the settings in MX Player, namely enabling Hardware Encoding. (MX Player/Settings/Encoding )
There are other versions of XBMC for Android to be found, but thats not what this review is about so i'll leave you to do some googling if you need those .)
We live in a time where Android TV sticks have evolved to the 2nd and 3rd generation. And it has been a quick journey so far.
The Jynxbox Mini HD is solid proof of that progress getting ahead with long steps !
